Ebonie Garnett
Community Health Worker
Birth, Community and Postpartum Doula
Ebonie is originally from the Charleston, SC area. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Psychology Degree in 2015 and has lived in Columbia, SC since. She is married to her husband of 7 years, Jamal Garnett. She mentors, serves her community and is involved at her local church, Midtown Two Notch. In her free time she loves to laugh, play games, and go on walks.
Ebonie has always been passionate about supporting families and social justice. She is fortunate and grateful to have found a career that she gets to do both. She is currently serving on the South Carolina Doulas Steering Committee, founded in efforts to create legislation for Medicaid reimbursement to community based doulas. She has received training and certificates in childbirth education, breastfeeding basics, community doula, community health worker, birthing pool managing, postpartum doula and newborn care. Most recently she became a certified community health worker and a statewide doula trainer with BirthMatters.
